Abre Puerto Rico (Open Puerto Rico) was conceived as a bilingual open data portal that would act as a source of accurate and objective information in the face of the island’s increasingly partisan political landscape and worsening economic situation. I joined the project in order to help define the information architecture and create accessible content – infographics, interactive visualizations of data, and motion graphics videos that both distribute information about pressing issues and act as a proof of concept for the project itself, demonstrating to journalists, academics, policymakers or average citizens what can be done with the datasets we have collected.

This interactive graphic maps three socio-economic indicators across Puerto Rico's seventy-eight municipalities.
